The 2009 List Of Tech Billionaires And How Much They Lost
Forbes released its list of the world’s billionaires and it looks like the U.S. tech billionaires took a pretty hefty hit from the economic crisis. The 40 tech billionaires we identified on the list collectively lost $81.5 billion compared to their standing in last year’s list. That is a drop in the bucket compared to the $1.4 trillion in net worth that disappeared from the entire Forbes’ list, which also saw the total number of billionaires drop to 793 from 1,125, the first year-to-year decrease since 2003.

How to Make Money by Writing and Selling your Own Ebook
Have you ever thought about writing an ebook to make some extra money online? Selling an ebook is an excellent way to get some extra income, since you get to keep most of the revenue, there’s no shipping involved, and creating one is very simple. In this post I’m going to cover the steps that I took to make money by writing and selling an ebook.
Step 1: Pick your Topic and the Keywords you Will Target:
There is a really good reason why I put picking the keywords and the topic in the same step. The #1 reason why my ebook was a success is the fact that I picked keywords with little competition. This allowed me to pay little for advertising through Google Adwords,
Obviously, you want to pick a topic that you know a lot about or can research about. I know this is probably the hardest step. It took me a while to come up with my topic. Try to think about the things that you enjoy doing, skills that you may have that not everyone does. Think about things that some of your friends or family members might call you about because they need help or have a question.
You must pick a topic that does not have too much competition and you must ask yourself whether people are willing to pay for the information you are offering. You can go to http://www.goodkeywords.com and download their software that will help you find out how many people are searching your topic. You can use http://www.overture.com to find out how much people are willing to pay for the information, by finding out how much advertisers are willing to pay for ads about that topic.
Step 2: Create the eBook and Website:
It is not the purpose of this article to teach how to create a website or an ebook. I’m assuming you know how to create a web page. An ebook is nothing more than a PDF document, so you can create your book in Microsoft Word and then turn the document into a PDF file.
Step 3: Get a Clickbank Account:
Clickbank is the company that takes care of charging your customers for the ebook. All you have to do is add a link on your web page where visitors would click once they are ready to make the purchase. Clickbank then takes a small percentage of each sale and sends you a check. Once you have signed up with Clickbank and have set up your account, you can add the link to your web page that will allow your visitors to purchase your ebook.
Step 4: Get an Account with Google Adwords:
Google Adwords, in case you don’t know, is the service that allows people to pay Google to have their ads show up on the right side of a search page that is related to the product or service people are advertising. Google charges you every time a person clicks on your ad. The amount you get charged depends on competition. It depends on what other advertisers are willing to pay to have their ad show up instead of yours for the specific keywords or phrases.
Step 5: Promote your Site With Articles:
Google Adwords is great, but you obviously don’t want to depend on ads that you pay for, for traffic. You want your website to start showing up in the regular search engine pages. A great way to do this is to get a lot of sites to link to yours. Writing articles and submitting them to article directories is an awesome way to do this. When you write an article, you put a link to your website in the about section in the bottom. You’ll quickly notice that submitting an article to one directory causes other directories to pick up your article and all of a sudden, you’ll have a bunch of sites that have posted your article and are now linking to your website.
Step 6: Add a Blog to your Ebook Site if Possible:
Just in case you have no experience promoting a website, let me tell you that content is the most important thing that you need to focus on to get search engines to like you. If you have a one-page site that functions only as a sales letter, it’s hard to get the search engines to send people your way.
If you have a topic that you can write a lot about without giving too much of your ebook away, then a blog is the perfect way to add content to your website and make it valuable to people.
Conclusion:
It only took me about a month to write my 55-page ebook and now I’m constantly making money while I do nothing. This experience showed me how it really is possible to make money online. All you have to do is provide something useful.

Deadly Business Mistake
Are You Making This Deadly Business Mistake?
A deadly business mistake that I see many people making, especially bloggers and online entrepreneurs.
The Internet is certainly erupting with opportunities. All it takes is an idea and passion to build a website around it, and in a matter of months you could have a real business on your hands.
Curiously, the abundance of opportunities is also what leads many bloggers and entrepreneurs to fail. How come? Because they end up trying to pursue too many of them at the same time.
I have seen it over and over again (and even stepped there myself). The guy creates a site or blog, and after a while the traffic and revenues become decent. He figures that if he creates 5 more similar websites, his traffic and revenues will multiply proportionally.
Wrong.
By creating 5 similar websites he will be diluting the amount of attention and care that each site receives. More often than not he will end up with 5 mediocre websites, each earning some revenues, but with no potential to become a business.
If you want to create a real business out of your blog or website you will need to focus ALL your energies and attention on it. Lack of focus is one of the deadliest mistakes that a blogger or entrepreneur can make.
At this point you might be wondering: "But I have seen bloggers with several successful blogs, and entrepreneurs with several successful companies, how do you explain that?"
It is simple, they all started with a single blog or company, and focused 100% of their energies on that, until it reached a point where it could walk alone. For a blog, this would be a point where you have a large and loyal audience, so that you can keep it going by writing content only (which shouldn't take more than 2 hours per day, and could even be outsourced). For a company, this would be a point where the owner can have managers or employees taking care of the operational work, while he steps back and only worries about key strategical decisions.
Once you reach that point you could start a second project without the risk of losing your focus. The problem is that most people start second and third projects way before their first one is complete.
If you are in this situation, do something to fix it. Analyze all your websites and find the one that has the highest potential of becoming a real business. Then get rid of the others (either by selling them or by putting them on hold), and focus all your energies on the chosen website.
It is a tough strategical decision, but in the long term it will pay off.

Make Money Online
Make Money Online (Without Spending a Dime)
Even with no product and no Web site, you can get paid for what and who you know
From Scott Allen, former About.com Guide
Making money online used to pretty much require you to have your own Web site, products to sell and some marketing savvy. But a new generation of dot-coms have arisen that will pay you for what you know and who you know without you having to be a web designer or a marketing genius.
But it's hard to tell hype from the real deal. I did a search on "make money online" and "making money online", and much of the information out there is just promoting various infoproducts, mostly about Internet marketing. I see why people sometimes ask, "Is anyone making money online besides Internet marketing experts?"
So I put together a list of business opportunities with legitimate companies that:
• Pay cash, not just points towards rewards or a chance to win money
• Don't require you to have your own Web domain or your own products
• Don't involve any hard-selling
• Aren't just promoting more Internet marketing
• Give a good return on your time investment
In the interest of objectivity, none of the links below are affiliate links, and none of them have paid or provided any other consideration for their presence here. These are legitimate companies with business models that allow you to get paid for a wide range of activities.
Help friends find better jobs.
Sites like ReferEarns, Zyoin, Who Do You Know For Dough?, Bohire and WiseStepp connect employers with prospective employees, many of whom are already employed and not actively job-hunting, via networking - the people who know these qualified candidates. Rewards for referring a candidate who gets hired range from $50 on up to several thousand dollars - not chump change. If you know a lot of job-seekers (and who doesn't these days?), this is a great way to break into the recruiting business with no overhead.
Connect suppliers with buyers.
Referral fees are a common practice in business, but they haven't been used much in online networking sites because there was no way to track them. Sites like Salesconx, InnerSell and uRefer now provide that. Vendors set the referral fees they're willing to pay (and for what), and when the transaction happens, you get paid. uRefer also allows merchants to set up referral programs for introductions and meetings, as well as transactions.
Write.
A growing number of sites will pay for your articles or blog posts. Associated Content and Helium will "pay for performance" based on page views for just about anything you want to write about. Articles on specific topics they're looking for can earn direct payments up to about $200. The rates are probably low for established writers, but if you're trying to break into the field and have time on your hands, they're a great way to start. Also, a lot of companies are looking for part-time bloggers. They may pay per post or on a steady contract. Our Weblogs Guide posts blogging jobs weekly in the forum.
Start your own blog.
You don't have to have your own Web site, or install blogging software, or even figure out how to set up the advertising. At Blogger you can set up a blog for free in less than five minutes without knowing a thing about web design, and Blogger even automates setting up Google AdSense so you can make money off your blog by displaying ads and getting paid when people click on the ads. To make even more money from it, set up an affiliate program (see below) for books, music, etc., and insert your affiliate links whenever you refer to those items. You'll have to get a lot of traffic to become a six-figure blogger, but pick an interesting topic, write well, tell all your friends, and you're off to a good start.
Create topical resource hubs.
Are you an expert on a particular niche topic? Can you put together an overview of the topic and assemble some of the best resources on the topic from around the web? Then you can create topical hubs and get paid through sites like Squidoo, HugPages and Google Knol. Payments are based on a combination of ad revenue and affiliate fees. You'll get higher rates doing it on your own, but these sites have a built-in supply of traffic and tools to make content creation easier.
Advertise other people's products.
If you already have a Web site or a blog, look for vendors that offer related but non-competing products and see if they have an affiliate program. Stick to familiar products and brands - they're easier to sell. To promote those products:
• Place simple text or graphical ads in appropriate places on your site
• Include links to purchase products you review or recommend in a blog, discussion forum or mailing list you control
• Create a dedicated sales page or Web site to promote a particular product
They all work - it just depends on how much time you have to spend on it and your level of expertise with Web design and marketing.
Microstock photography.
You don't have to be a professional photographer to sell your photos for money. People are constantly in need of stock photography for websites, presentations, brochures and so on, and are willing to pay for the right image. People generally search for images on stock photography sites by keywords, not by photographer, so you have the same chance as anyone else of having your image picked. Just be careful that you don't have images of trademarked brands, copyrighted art or people's faces that are readily identifiable (unless you have a model release), but just about anything else is fair game, and I promise - you'd be amazed what people need pictures of, so don't make any assumptions. If it's a decent photo, upload it. Some sites to get you started include Fotolia, ShutterStock, Dreamstime and iStockphoto. The great thing about this is that it's truly "set it and forget it".
The above list is by no means comprehensive, but it highlights some of the new and interesting ways to make money online without investing any money, without having a product of your own, and without having expert sales and marketing skills. Most of all, unlike taking surveys or getting paid to read e-mail, the potential return on your time investment is substantial.

Cameron Johnson
You are fired!(你被开除了!)”

Google PageRank
Understanding Google PageRank, and how you can actually create PageRank within your websites!
What is Google PageRank? It is an algorithm created by the founders of Google to estimate the importance of webpages. The basic idea behind the PageRank algorithm is the fact that a link (also called hyperlink or backlink) from page A to page B can be seen as a vote of trust from page A to page B. The higher the number of links pointing to a page, the higher its PageRank, and the higher its rankings inside Google's search results.
One detail that you need to keep in mind is that each link has a specific value, which is determined by the PageRank of the page where the link is located divided by the total number of outgoing links on that page. For instance, if a page has a PageRank value of 8 and 4 outgoing links, each of those links will pass 2 points of "link juice" (the calculations on the algorithm are more complex, but this is the basic idea).
Most people focus on getting external links to increase their PageRank, but they forget that internal links also pass link juice, and this is how you can create PageRank within your websites.
Now let me use a simple example to illustrate the concept. Suppose that you just created a website with one page only, the homepage. At this point your website has a PageRank of 0, because it is not even indexed by Google. You then convince a friend to link to your website. The page where the link is placed has a PageRank of 10 and 2 outgoing links, so your website is receiving 5 points of link juice from that link.
The actual PageRank of your website will be 4.25, or 5 x 0.85. This happens because Google applies a damping factor of 0.85 when it makes PageRank calculations (this is necessary else the PageRank of two pages linking to each other would grow to infinite). If you then proceed to create a second page on your website, linking to it from the homepage, that second page will have a PageRank of 3.61 (4.25 from the link it got from your homepage, multiplied by 0.85).
And there you go. By adding a second page to your site your managed to actually create PageRank. The cool thing is that when you link that second page to the homepage, they will be sending link juice to each other, back and forth, until the damping factor kills the effect.
Now don't worry if you haven't followed the maths. The takeaway message is: every time Google indexes a new page from your website, the total PageRank within your website will also increase. Getting external links is obviously essential to having a high PageRank, but increasing the number of pages that Google indexes from your site can also help, and most people neglect this.
Finally, if you want to monitor how many pages Google is indexing from your website, simply search for "site:yourdomain.com" on Google.
